It's May, it's May...the Merry Month of May!

It's porch sitting time!

But before that can happen,

some pretty heavy cleaning needs to be done!

The flower boxes need to be planted.

The wicker furniture needs to be moved off the porch and cleaned.

The porch floor needs a thorough scrubbing.

Once that's done, the wicker furniture can come back.

New cushions need to be sewn.

Buttermilk Cottage's color theme is red, blue and yellow.

Happily I already had what I needed in my stash!

The flower boxes were planted with pansies.

And finally, this week, it all came together!

Daisy's water bowl is even in it's place.

The swing is all ready for some lazy summer afternoons.

This is where I plan to spend many hours this spring and summer.

As you can see, it's plenty roomy enough for guests!

Drop by anytime!

Don't forget my Give Away on May 13,

to celebrate my first year of blogging.

You can get all the details here.

What a wonderful spot. I think it would be hard to leave....I too am thinking about cushions and swings....I want to do one for the back yard swing but it has not roof above it. I hate the thought of bringing the cushions in everytime. Not sure what I will come up with. I thank you for the inspiration. I am off tomorrow. Hopefully I will get something accomplished in the cushion area... Have a great night. Thanks again for sharing. Lisa

Your porch looks so inviting! I need to work on my screen porch now that the Aggie lattice is up. The guys even made me two plant shelves!

I absolutely adore that porch you guys have! Seems we sort of have similar taste in pillows and such. I made some a few days ago, and they remind me somewhat of yours. Must be something about our hobbies influencing our color choices!

What a great porch! Lots of room and yet cozy. I need to do the same. I've just been waiting for the pollen to go away before washing everything down

i stumbled onto your blog from some other collection of home decor-oriented blogs, and i almost fell over when i saw the porch! it reminded me so much of a dear neighbor's porch in wheaton, il, that i stared hard at all your details and allowed myself to remember her house. i haven't been her neighbor in 5 years, and your porch pictures made me miss her and her porch tremendously.

your handwork is beautiful, and i liked your facebook link on the sidebar. thanks for sharing.

If your porch could talk, it would say "It isn't beautiful." To which it should expect a reply, " "but You are oh, so worth it!"
