Happy Halloween

Isn't this little guy cute? My daughter, who is gifted at modeling clay made him for me when she was eight or nine years old. She has loved working with clay since she was quite young. I can't wait to show you some of the Christmas Santas she's made for me over the years. I promise to share them when I "unpack" Christmas.

Another gifted crafter in my family is Terry, my sister-in-law. When visiting her and my brother Rick in September, Terry was just finishing up several of her newest Fall projects, these spooky little trees. They are actually made from real tree branches, which she boils to clean, hand paints, glitters then embellishes.

Some of the embellishments are hand cut shapes from old books and decorated like this spider's web. Thanks Terry for the gift of one of your trees. It's been a fall decoration in my dining room for several weeks now.

And now, my little guy from Kate has a place to hang out after
trick-or-treating!
Happy Halloween!

Very cute. I enjoyed molding for awhile. I have forgotten how much fun I had. I think I will have to get some out and see if I still have the touch. Do you like to mold? I see from your profile that you like to sew. Do you like to quilt? The table scarf in the tree photo is pretty do you make it?

That is too cute. Your daughter was very artistic at such a young age.

You DO have some very talented crafters in your family! That little bear is sooo charming! It amazes me that an eight~year~old made it! I'm looking forward to seeing what she's making now. And that tree with paper cobweb is so cute & clever~love the black glitter. They look adorable together.
A happy and safe Halloween to you!
Warmly,
Tracey

Don't you just love unpacking holiday decorations that have sentimental value? It takes me forever to put up a Christmas tree because I have to ooh and ahh over everything.
