The calender may not say it,
but Spring has arrived because I've
spotted my first live, blooming daffodil!
I borrowed this "holiday" from some former
neighbors and still good friends.
(Debby and Russell, you know I'm talking about you!)
They have a long standing tradition of
celebrating on the day anyone in their family
spots the first daffodil,
by doing something special as a family.
It might be something as simple as baking cupcakes,
but they make it a celebration!
My adaptation of their holiday is that on the day
I spot my first daffodil,
winter is over and I can bring out my packed away
spring decorating items!
We actally got two blooms to start the season!
After packing away the Christmas holidays,
I went to a very simple dining table for winter.
This is my favorite flower and I've had this
silk arrangements long enough that it's
starting to look a little faded.
However, it will have to make do until
there are enough blooming daffodils to
make an arrangement.
I've also added a white woven table runner
to brighten up the room a bit.
and rotate them seasonally.
Time for this little guy to make
an appearance with a couple of
ceramic Easter eggs.
two friendly bunnies
hold up their end.
Now my dining table matches my mood!
a little touch Spring decorating too
with some wooden eggs.
The violets are still blooming and
they cannot be improved upon a bit!
sweet little touches of Spring.
my current knitting project,
(which I was able to work on outside!!!)
even has the look of Spring!
This week I'm linking with parties at

I love your bunny candlesticks..and all of your pretty Spring things! I may get some out tomorrow! It's TIME! ♥
Yes, lots of trees blooming here already. Spring is in the air. Afraid cold air will be back too. Love your violets. I hope the one I have blooms again. Thanks for joining WUW.
Even though you only have two, I'm jealous of your flowers! I'd love to see signs that spring will actually come. It seems a bit early for Easter, but it's nice to enjoy those pretty decorations as long as possible. I keep looking at the Easter stuff at the craft stores, but haven't been able to make myself buy anything. Lots of pretty things, so I'm sure I will lose my willpower soon.
I love your spring! I am ready!
Yes!! I see the very tips of the green of our daffodils! We have some in the front and they are all along the back fence. I just love the bright yellow flower.
My favorite is the iron rabbit candlesticks. Those are could stay out all year.....
Happy almost Spring ; )
Boohoo! I want it to be daffodil day here on Long Island!
Love your bunnies. Mine come out in the month Easter happens. In a few days, my house will be 'wearin' green' for St. Pat's! (I hate it when Easter falls early and I have to mix up holidays. I hope it is in April this year.)
Yes, another daffodil post and this one is closer to home. They're not blooming here yet but the foliage has sprouted. In fact, I downsized my flower bed last fall and forgot to tell the buttercups. They've sprouted about a foot outside the bed!
No way! You already have daffodils? I'm jealous. Mine aren't showing any signs of flowers yet. Your Easter decor is beautiful. Makes me want to pull out mine. Thanks for brightening up my day!
Beautiful photos! Makes me so ready for spring. Thanks for sharing!
Ahhhh, signs of spring! Maybe soon here when all this snow melts! I have a similar bunny candlestick!

I posted about daffodils in my yard on Tuesday, also. I'm like you-daffodils mean spring to me, too. I love your bunnies. I think I'll put out some of my spring decorations, too. Come visit and follow me. I just put up the Google Friends Connect last night and I only have 2 followers!
Susan, you almost have me ready to decorate for Spring! I have been so crazy busy here I haven't had time to even think about that too much, but I did see my first daffodil yesterday while I was racing about! Yea, Spring!
No pretty little spring flowers showing up around here but they will be most welcome! I love those happy bunnies holding up candles. And, I'm truly jealous of your violets. My grandmother had beautiful ones. I've tried to grow them as nicely but I'm doing something wrong. I enjoyed the memories yours bring.
Best,
Bonnie
Yay for Spring!! :) Everything is so pretty and I just love your bunny candlesticks!
What a wonderful tradition! I spotted the first one in our garden last weekend. I love all your spring touches. It is time, isn't it?
I love the idea of daffodil day.. I spotted my first iris shoots and a crocus today and even a tulip has shot forth it's green leaves. Thanks for the lovely post.
After such a cold winter, I think we are all ready for spring. Your photos are so lovely and crisp.
Stopping by from The Shabby Chic Cottage. Your Daffodils caught my eye. I just posted today about the signs of spring in my yard! Like you, I am thankful and relieved to be done with winter! LOve, love, love your bunny candlesticks. :)

I've enjoyed my visit today, please stop by and say hello when you have a moment, we love company!
Thank you for sharing a touch of spring with me today. I especially loved your daffodils. It is snowing pretty heavy this morning in Alaska so the warm feeling I got from your blog was much appreciated. By the way, I have a contest giveaway on my blog you might find fun. Take a look. triumphandtears.blogspot.com
Well lucky you!! I wish we were seeing some blooms in Pennsylvania but alas we could still get smacked with winter weather! Lovely table! Blessings!
Oh I love your blog! Imagine my surprise when I saw your daffs. It seems we were thinking on the same lines.
I love everything bunny...yes I have a bunny room! Thanks for sharing! Luv-Loretta
I LOVE the iron bunny candleholder!!!! That is so cute! So whimsical!!! It looks like it would be right at home in an Alice in Wonderland setting! Fabulous!
I am starting to see a few little signs of Spring in our yard. Just hints of bulbs coming up and buds on the trees. Your bunny candleholders are adorable and I love your windowseat.

My Jonquils were poking up their little leaves...and then we had another hard freeze...either they'll make it, or they won't. You have lots of promising things happening in your gardens. Thank you for sharing your charming take on Spring. Cherry Kay
